Friday: Sept 24, Oct 8 & 22, and Nov 12.
Saturday: Oct 2 & 16, and Nov 6.

Special hours:  Sat, Nov 6 & Sun, Nov 7, we will be open from 12-5, in conjunction with the 6th Annual Artists of Rappahannock Studio & Gallery Tour.

* Monday – Thursdays Scrabble School is home to the Senior Center of Rappahannock County.

The Rappahannock African-American Heritage Center at Scrabble School

The public is invited.

The new exhibit will highlight the experiences of people who attended Scrabble School.  It will also focus on the historical importance of the school from a local and national perspective–as a school for African Americans during segregation and for its architectural significance as a Rosenwald School.   Visitors at the school and online will also be able to learn more about the school through an interactive program featuring oral histories in audiovisual format.

To see what this technology looks like, go here. This project is a collaboration with the Virginia Center for Digital History at the University of Virginia.
